Outlook updates prevented mail being delivered.

In case anybody else is scratching their heads like I was a while ago, the MSOutlook updates installed on my system today crippled Outlook until I did a manual update/restart. No warning or explanation Outlook just stopped working and outgoing mail refused to budge from the outbox!

I have seen that happen 2-3 times in the last 6+ years. I normally reboot the PC and then perform a fix on the outlook email data file, then reboot and run the email client again.
