I'd like to know the answer to this one as well. I ordered last night, didn't take long, surprised really. I was quoted 5 to 10 days for equipment and activation. Is this optimistic??
Also, how long after ordering does it appear in the BT order tracker. Presumably Wab you have looked there?? I have and there's nothing there yet. I hope when it does, the activation date will become obvious.
Many thanks for any info, from anyone.

My migration from Nildram to Sky Mid took 11 days (went live on Sunday past), I got my router at 7 days.
All painless and no problems, hopefully it will be the same for you both.

You will normally get a letter roughly the same time that you receive the Sky router which informs you of your username and password (for you sky email account) as well as an activation date.
For me, it took quite long as I registered my interest and had to wait a month for an invitation to order - but once I ordered (supplying my MAC code) it tool just over a week to get going, and activation was exactly on cue with what was stated in the letter from sky.
Hope all goes as well for you.

ooops - Sorry, a one sided view from me! I should have pointed out that there were many cases where Sky have messed people around with activation amongst other things - should be many threads in this forum of such cases.
You can never tell if something will go wrong but on the large part all the people I persoally know who have moved across to Sky broadband have had no issues with doing so and I think the majority of Sky customers will agree!

Migrated to Sky after many frustrating years with BT, however my migration went very smoothly and over a one week period.
Ordered on a Sunday and router delivered the following wednesday, went live the following Sunday, with no problems. Was unsure if I had done the right thing after reading many forums (digitalspy), but I would highly recommend, as I now pay less than BT and my speed has increased from 3 to 4.7, happy days....!

The ratio of good vs. bad migrations to Sky could be very much different in actualy fact and forums would normally give a biased view towards problematic migrations, as it is those with problems who visit and post to forums more often than those who have no issues what so ever!
I was worried about the same thing while looking through different forums but my migration did (thankfully) go rather well.
This isn;t to say that the next person to order Sky BB will not have any issues as anyone can be unlucky ebough to draw the short straw!
