Order Problem - Post Code not Synchronised!

[link to this post]

I just received a letter from Sky saying there is a problem with my order and called them as requested. Was told the order failed because my telephone number is not in the BT database and could I call BT on 150 and get my post code synchronised.

Did that and as suspected, there wasn't a problem. I have migrated usuing this telephone number without problems before, why should there be one now??

Called Sky back and said there was not a problem at BT's end. The guy re-confirmed my MAC Code and said that they usually have problems putting the first order in and will try again!!!!! WHAT! I put my order through on the 8th and they tell me 10 days later.

Has anybody else had a similar problem?

I can see this problem going round in circles. Just waiting for another letter in 10 days stating the same problem.

Yes, With my MAC code tho.

I had a new type of MAC code becuase im on BTs new Hardware at the exchnage, well i ordered on the 4th and got my Router on the 8th and then a letter on the 15th saying my mac code was invalid. So i managed to get it sorted and BT wholesale told me the MAC has to be put in manually.

Got a phone call this morning from them saying my MAC code was successful on the 15th and i need to still wait 10-15 days :P Hopefully ill get it by the 24th

Thanks for your reply MaxiLive.

So had Sky given you the problem as Post Code Synchronisation because they had inputted your MAC Address incorrectly. Mine ended in EM08I, so you can see if they have to enter it manually you can gaurantee the inputter at Sky may well screw up the difference between numbers and letters.

I placed my order on th 8th December and have not received router as yet. Just a note to say that am migrating from IPStream to LLU.

Oh sorry i didnt have the postcode issue, I was just linking to a late conenction problem. The postcode seems to be a mishap from BTs end, you could try calling them to make sure your postcode is linked to your phone line or call Sky and make sure they manually order your broadband. That way you can get more information of what the problem is.

I ordered by phone and they guy on the phone said they dispatch the Router ASAP but if your account failed due to your postcode maybe they were unsure if its the correct address. I would try confirm your details with BT (update details) then do the same with Sky.

Have you had this issue before?

I've just checked the BT Order Tracker and there is a date for an BT IPStream Max cease and date for LLU Line Share PSTN, so hopefully its gone through OK this time, or more likely, someone has inputted the correct details.

I say this time as there was no reference to my original order on the 8th December.
