Sky trying it on?

[link to this post]

A friend of mine was with NTL, after losing Sky One he decided to switch to Sky on the 3 for 26 deal. He couldn't apply online as he had no BT phone connected so he phoned up. They took all his details and confirmed he could get the 3 for 26 deal.

Sky TV was installed promptly, no sign of Sky taking over the phone yet but Sky now say they can't offer him broadband, turns out the 26 deal only covers LLU enabled exchanges which he knew nothing about and they did not mention this to him. They have offered him Sky Connect for 17. Also they are currently charging him 21 a month for Sky TV alone, hardly seems right to me!

So has anybody any advice to offer, I think that they are in breach of contract and he could walk away, any thoughts?

about right I think becasue as part of the deal he would be on the mid package which is 5 a month so 21 + 5 comes to the 26.

On the Connect , LLU issue, theres seems to be some people who are only in a connect but are paying LLU prices but this is only because their exchange is due to upgraded soon. So it depends on your friends exchange, if its due to updated soon he could probably push to get the connect price reduced to the LLU then sky will switch you over which the exchange is upgraded.

But if theres no plans to update the exchange then he's probably out of luck.
