SKY MAX SPEED FLUCTUATING

[link to this post]

Anyone know how I can get Sky to give me back my original speed? when I first connected to Skybroadband Max.

I used to get the following:-

SNR = 6.0
ATTN 55
Download 3666000
Upload 572000

Now

SNR = 7.5 which has improved
Attn = 55
Download = 3232000 gone down
upload = 672000 gone up

I forgot to mention that my Draytek Router 2600g reports this line as GDMT, should that be correct?

On my setup GDMT meant I was on the ADSL1 product which has a maximum download speed of 8Mbps (even though MAX has a theoretical limit of 16 Mbps)

With your figures you will not gain anything my getting switched to ADSL2+ - I did this and my connection never altered at all.

Looks like you've got a fairly long line with a bit of noise on it, meaning that the speeds you're getting are probably all you'll ever get. Is your router plugged into your master telephone socket?

Sky Broadband Max
Average Sync 10000/764Kbps, 44.5dB Attenuation

Bulldog Unlimited Plus
Best Speedtest
Average Sync 9000/1000Kbps, 38.5dB Attenuation
