Help, my 10 Month old son has messed up my speed..

[link to this post]

Right, bit of background...

I had moved house back in March, and was convinced of a faulty line.

Then joined sky, who pretty much agreed with me after 2 months of disconnections and awfull speeds, and eventually a coroded line was found just outside my property....

Things is I have 2 quieries as a result.....

1) What effect would this have on my line, seen as I had my 10 days "training" on a faulty line, and is there anyway I could have a "re-train", as the line is now fixed, or is this not an issue at all.

2) when the line was fixed, I imediately jumped from a sync speed of around 200kbs right upto 1700kbs, and well pleased I was aswell, and it was absolutely rock solid for about 8 days without a single drop, so 2 parts to this question,
a) as it was completely rock solid for 8 days, would I be wrong in expecting the system to try and obtain a higher speed?
b) the most annoying one, is that my 10 month old son decided to pull the plug out of the wall, and as such, my router now thinks it "dropped", and now my sync speed dropped to 1100kbs. How can I at least get it back to the original 1700?

I appreciate I have asked a few questions here, but any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Your line should return to its previous state within three days, probably a lot less. Just keep the router plugged in.

Mid is LLU, so you have no "training" to worry about, that's a BTwholesale/BTopenreach term, but you're on the Sky owned Easynet network instead.

really?

didn't know that....

So in reality, I could keep rebooting the router until I get the decent speed back, and it would have no effect on my speed longer term???

and does this apply to both Mid and Base (I am on Mid, my parents are on Base), just so I know, and then I can tell my parents they don't need to leave the router on permanantly, and I can reboot without worrying etc

only BT based products have this silly idea that if you turn off your router or resync it, there is a fault, LLU doesnt suffer from this.

Entanet office
ROUTER:-Speedtouch 585i firmware 6.1.4
Sync 5750D 832U
Att:-55dB Down 31dB Up
SNR:-6.5dB Down 7dB Up
