Dear fellow Sky users,
If anyone has experienced a scenario similar to mine and has any ideas please let me know as I think this is going to be a nightmare.
I went for the 10 per month Sky Broadband package in March this year. The transfer from Namesco went through perfectly and I had a stable and reliable connection with download speeds of 12 Mbps.
I moved out of the house where the broadband was in July and got BT to cancel the phone line. I let Sky know that I would be in contact with a new BT number as soon as my new house was finished and the new BT line was active.
The new BT line went live on the 22nd of August so I called Sky as soon as I could see the number working in broadband checkers. I was advised that I needed to wait 5 days after the BT line went live for Sky to try and move the service. I waited 5 days and called back to se if they had a date for the service to go live only to be told that the cease for the old line was stuck in their / BTs system and would need to be escalated to get it sorted manually.
Since then I have called them a few times to find out what is going on only to be given the same vague response of, its been escalated, they dont know how long it will take but it could be up to 30 days to cease the old service. This is really a problem now as I need the connection for my work as well as personal use. I do not have any confidence in Sky and BT sorting this mess out any time soon.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Dean.
