Having been with Madasafish for years I really feel like staying with who I know but(and this sounds like I want as much as I can for as little as possible)but I do worry that I can afford to stay on the web and until now I have seen friends and relatives all switching over to Broadband and telling me to and what I am missing.
I should think of now and not worry that in a years time I cannot afford to be online. After all much as I'd hate to I can always go back onto dial up or hopefully if Dial up is stopped and Broadband is only available prices will be reasonably comparable.
Someone has suggested to me(why pay a fee that will increase after 6 months and why pay over or nearly 20)when if you are a subscriber to Sky you can have broadband for nothing or pay 10 per month for unlimited usage(allowing for fair use whatever that is)
That is already approx 4 cheaper than what I pay now for dial up. And no increases being promised after 6 months.
So it's like having BB at half price or pretending that you are getting BB and the Sky TV and radio package at half price.
I doubt the minium and free package is worth having so it's whether mid for 5 per month is good enough or whether to go for Max at 10 per month.
I don't think that I'll download many or any video material unless it's something like a clip at You Tube. I'm more likely to want to e-mail, listen to a radio stream or download podcasts and/or possibly do some music downloading of mp3's.
In normal use does anyone have any advice whether the mid package would be adequate enough or should I set my sights on the Max package. I sometimes have difficulty trying to turn mb figures into what that actually means.
Anyone found the fair usage condition a problem?
I really appreciate any help.
I assume if you sign up to one package or the other you could if you find you are not using the amount of allowed bandwidth you could ask to increase to the max package or reduce to the mid package as long as you remain with Sky for the minimum contract period of a year.
I find it difficult to sometimes committ to a long contract in case finances change. I don't worry about much in my life and find making decisions easy but where others just pick an ISP and sign up for BB I tend to dither and worry if I am making the correct choice. I should just enjoy now.
Thanks
