Old Router

[link to this post]

Just got my router and it's an OLD ONE!

DG834GT

I'm not happy I have agonized for 2 weeks whether to go over to Sky from Entanet and due to a couple of their practices like hiding username and password I have a BAD feeling.

At least with the old router you should be able to extract the username and password and then use that in just about any router you want.

I think the new sky netgear router is essentially the old TI-ar7 based dg834g V3 with sky custom firmware in a new case, whereas the old sky router is the netgear dg834gt which has the better broadcom chipset and faster wireless. I wouldn't swap my old router for the new one

Feel better and better, thanks.

My friend who is on sky gets 12 Mb on one test, do the test again half hour later and he gets 500Kb and streaming is useless, any ideas? This is on Sunday afternoon.

No, it isn't. If you're talking about the new black router, it's made by Sagem - the F@st2504, and it is a variation of the F@st 2400 Series - no idea what the chipset is.

There are two 'new routers', according to Sky User, the Sagem and the Netgear DG934G.

Yes, that's true, but the Sagem is the newest one, and seems to be the one that most new subscribers are getting.
