don't jump on me but torrents slow anyone?

[link to this post]

I needed to get a file lastnight so i had a go at a torrent. Well the torrent didnt get above 30K. there were quite a few seeds but i put it down to being a naff torrent. Later I grabbed the latest fedora to prove a point to myself. Well that had over 900 seeds and couldnt get above 30K.

I've come down this morning and updated the client but the same fedora torrent is doing bang on 30K I've tried a speedtest.net and got pretty standard results

All the time, but that's what torrents are like. Some will max out your connection and some won't.

Fedora was downloading at over 400KB/sec for me, which is my maximum speed. Took a few minutes to wind up to that speed while Azureus was connecting to more peers.

hmmm they are usually pretty good for me which is why the fedora was such a surprise cause that will come down as fast as my line will take. If i open two torrents then they only use a max of 30K I smell a fish

Sky do not port block or throttle on any of their LLU products.

yeah I am sure thats the general opinion, yet my torrent client is telling me different.

I'm not for a second suggesting that this is the case, other ports and services are working fine and at thier full speed, including ftp and nntp. i am simply asking other users if they are experiencing this

If you want to send me a link to the torrent that you are trying by PM I can try for you.

(only a legal source one though)
