I was just connected to Sky (the Mid package).
On the first day my pings to the first "easynet" router were pretty crummy, bouncing between 60ms and 80 ms. (I'd expect a maximum of 30ms for this first hop, on my previous provider I got around 18ms for the first hop).
So, I emailed Sky and the following morning they said they'd emailed me back with "[we've made] some adjustments to your connection... set your max delays to 8/8 and this will improve your ping times/latency."
And that day I was getting a 30 ms ping. Great.
Well, it was great until the next day when the latency has dropped back to 60-80ms. This time customer support wasn't so helpful: "Unfortunately we are unable to make any further changes to your line."
So, my question is, for other people on the LLU packages, what sort of ping time do you get to the first Sky router? Is 60-80ms to be expected on Sky, or is this problem specific to my line?
(By the way, ping times were measured using the router's maintenance ping and traceroute tools)
