Sky Broadband Area

Hello,

I know that my exchange is enabled for sky over a year ago

but when I goto sky's site and put my number in I am told I am not in their area and only Sky Connect is available.

How far from the exchange do they stop their service.
Currently on Demon MaxADSL and sync/connect at 4mb

Perhaps they have sold all the lines they have available at your exchange?

Has Sky offered you Sky Connect?

If it was �5 instead of �17 then your exchange has Sky LLU but Sky has full capacity on it's LLU service at the moment. If Connect was offered at �5 - Sky expects additional capacity to be installed and will then shift you to their LLU service.

I would ring them a couple of times. First operator told me that no the exchange was not enabled, despite Samknows saying that it had been for quite a while. Rang another operator and lo and behold now connected on 16meg of goodness. Persevere with them. Also some towns have more than one exchange, mine does and the main exchange is enabled but the one nearest our rather large council estate isn't (pretty sure that this is a mistake on Skys' part as the dole bludgers would love to swallow up all their bandwidth as they all have dishes)

I may be wrong but Easynet is a business provider, so they may have their LLU available there, and Sky has not opted to offer its services yet

That makes some sense that a large portion of their customers would be in the town centre. But the other exchange feeds the 2 or 3 industrial estates that would also benefit. Perhaps they'll enable it some day.

The latest list I received directly from Sky (dated 5 days ago) lists Malvern as being available for all their services. I suspect they've run out of capacity at the exchange.

As another poster said, phone them and be persistent.
