Mirating to Sky - is LLU avilable at my exchange?

[link to this post]

Hi guys

After quite frankly a terrible CS situation with my old provider uwclub, I have decided to migrate to sky broadband after taking the "all 3 package" that was available.

When I placed the order, I was told that my exchange was not able to provide an LLU service, and I would have to use the 40Gb capped 8Mbps Sky Connect service. Fair enough, as my ADSL usage over the past year has dropped to just using browsing and maybe 10Gb total download per month. My migration date is the 30th and I have just received the sagem router thru the post.

However, was doing a bit of nosing at samknows, and the exchange data came as:

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/NSIMD

and comes back as LLU enabled. I know that sky is not listed as a provider, but is it worth contacting and asking them if they are going to? How aggressive is sky in setting up LLU systems?

The strange thing is I checked orange's website to see if they offered 16Mbps, but they came back as a negative, so I'm a bit puzzled.

Many thanks

There are quite a few exchanges which are LLU'd by Sky, but which are currently full up. How much are Sky charging you for the 8Meg service ? If it's 5 or 10, then it's a sign that they may well be able to migrate you to LLU in the future, when more space becomes available.

Hi there

At the moment, I'm paying 10 for the Sky Connect 40Gb capped package.

Fingers crossed Inverness will get the LLU treatment by Sky.

If you are paying 10 for the service, it's a good chance that it's on the list.
