Speedtest issues - 5th November

Hi guys,

I've closed the previous thread to focus the discussion in this new one.

Is anyone on Sky having problems with our speedtester tonight? (apart from Wingco1 :-p)

Here are my results from 11.10pm

BBMax:
Download Speed: 4272 kbps (534 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 381 kbps (47.6 KB/sec )

Thinkbroadband:
Speed Down 3455.39 Kbps ( 3.4 Mbps )
Speed Up 376.64 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )

Getting full whack on newsgroups though (850k/sec)

We've done some testing and we're getting very odd results ... speeds seem to increase for bursts when routing changes but then they fall again.. Will have to talk to Easynet..

Actually, having had weeks of getting very slow speed results with the TB speedtester this morning it it now showing my normal kind of readings. Not sure what you've done - but tnks!! (On SKY mid)

It's pretty accurate today, usually the TB speedtester gives me results around 3 or 4 meg regardless.

Speed Down 6748.40 Kbps ( 6.6 Mbps )
Speed Up 376.44 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )

TB Speed tester also works and give accurate readings on UKonline , and has done since your first thread on speed test issues .
I had just assumed the problem had been fixed ..

Im on UKonline and sync at D 16906351/U 1024000 , and speed test at, Which is what it should test at

All I can do is look back at my recorded stats and:

25/10/2008 gave:
Speed Down 2728.79 Kbps ( 2.7 Mbps ) PORT 8095
Speed Up 350.03Kbps ( 0.3 Mbps )

And this wasn't a one-off - I have 5 logged tests from September onwards all giving pretty similar results.

06/11/2008 gave:
Speed Down 6627.48 Kbps ( 6.5 Mbps ) PORT8095
Speed Up 349.39 Kbps ( 0.3 Mbps )

They are both on the same IP address given by SKY NOTE the Upspeed is unchanged, it's the down that altered.

That's the nearest i can give you as a window for the change here. Still working today. I thought it might be to do with Kaspersky, but not convinced.
