need repeater/range extender for sky box ?

[link to this post]

Hi

Can anyone recommend an accesspoint/range extender that I can hardwire a couple devices into so it can pick up the wireless signal from the Sagem sky broadband adsl router/modem ?

Current firmware is 1.9Sky, ADSL firmware A2pB023o.d20h

Looks like I have a wireless station access list I can add a MAC address into.

Don't want to buy the wrong one - I've been on the wrong end of two belkins not playing ball before so don't want to make any mistakes. Thanks

Far better to use Homeplug than mess about with range extenders. I've tried them, and found them to be more trouble than they're worth.

That's an idea I'd never thought of. My mate's house, the wiring is pretty old though. I think we have some at work I can try out to see.

Thanks for the idea

We've been using Homeplug for a few years now - much more reliable and less hassle than wireless for static machines. Wifi is handy for laptops, etc when mobile.

Sky Max user, OK so far but only been 48 hours!
Was VM 20meg
When it works, it's great. When it doesn't, NTL / VM support really suck!
Don't really need WiFi? Consider HomePlug (www.solwise.co.uk)
