Connect Port blocking/Enfored FUP?

[link to this post]

Looking to jump ship from my current ISP, there is no viable LLU presence at my exchange so...er...ipstream it is.
couple of questions for those in the know...

Sky connect @17/month looks to have a 50 activation cost?! Is that the same for migrations or am I missing something..?
Has/is the 40Gb cap enforced? if so...how?
Any port blocking/traffic shaping issues?

Anything else I should know?

Just migrated to Connect. Re activation fee, are you on a Sky Sports/Movies type package?

If you are, and you speak to CS nicely there are deals to be done. I am on the full package AND took Sky Talk (good deal for me) at the same time and had the activation fee waived and had Sky Talk free for three months (15.00) PLUS my current Sky Sports package was halved for three months as well.

Re traffic shaping etc, I am getting all DAY long 6.7mb+ download speed. Can't speak for the evening/night as I am usually off line soon after 7pm. I am approx 500 meters from the exchange, which is important.

If you do jump ship make sure you are logged in to 'My Sky' which will keep you up to date with migration progress etc. Also, use the 'Sky User' web site for extremely useful up to date information re Sky broadband etc.

Always remember that it is on a 12 month contract. So far, I am happy with Sky Connect, only time will tell!

Hope this helps?

PS. wish this information was offered when I migrated, had to fight for everything!
