Advice please

[link to this post]

Hi, I am currently with Zen and getting a very good service. However, it is costing me £15 a month and I would like to reduce the cost. If I go with Sky I can get a decent download allocation and an 8 MB speed - it is about the same as I get from Zen. My exchange (Exeter) is LLU enabled. Would you advise moving to Sky broadband for about £5 a month? Any thoughts or guidance it would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

I moved to Sky LLU from Zen about 18 months ago, and people in the Zen forum said I would regret it. It hasn't happened yet. My Sky line is about 1.5M faster than it was with Zen (no nasty line profiles to worry about), and the connection has been rock solid since day 1.

Hi.

We're at Paignton and have been with Sky BB for well over a year now. I honestly can't fault them as an ISP. connection is rock solid even when the noise margin on our 5 meg sync (Sky's Netgear router) drops to 0 late evening. I haven't a clue how good their customer service is, we've never had to use it.

We have had a couple of probs with Sky email drop-offs but a quick look here or SkyUser established that they were general & not specific and were quickly resolved. Workarounds were posted at SkyUser until it was sorted.

To get Mid BB 8 meg for £5 you need SkyTalk, otherwise it's £10.

Good luck,

t t

I'm on Mid and have been for 2 years with no regret. When I joined, Sky were having issues with the email. So I spent some of the savings I made, to get a domian and put my email out to a 3rd party.

Its a great service...
