online gaming problem

hi, hope someone could help

i'm having a problem with fifa 11 online on the ps3, there is a delay from me pressing the button and any action taking place ( about half a second)

i've rung sky and had my max delays lowered to 8, they say im also on the gaming profile and still i get this delay, sky support say nothing else can be done! (phoned 5 times in total)

It's not the ping, because mine is very similiar and gaming is great

any idea what it could be?

For what it is worth, ive stayed clear of Ea and Activision games for some years now, i find their servers very poor and pot luck with online performance regardless of Isp provider, speed or profile.

Probably the server or the PS3 network, which is laggy in general

Do you get slow down on other online games? Also have you checked whether other people are having the same problem with that game?

this is the only game i have so can't check other games, i've been on the fifa forum and this game uses p2p connection, with their server not involved much, every game of football i play has this lag/delay so thats why i think its my connection

Who is hosting the games? Is it you or the person / people you are playing? If somebody else is hosting (especially if it is the same person) then it could be there end that is the problem. One game hubby was playing which didn't have servers hosting it, if one of his friends hosted, then it was as you described, but if we hosted it was fine for both players.

still have the problem if im home or away (presume if your home you host?)

Sorry not familiar with that game - does home mean you host, away mean the other person hosts?

I have contacted sky help desk via email to have my max delay set to 8, no reply yet

Started two weeks ago and it's been upto 300ping in the evenings and fine during the day
