Using a different router and online gaming

I extracted my details from my Sky router, and switched back to my old one. All was working fine (from PC, ipod touches, and PS3).

Come the evening though, hubby tries to play on line and he can't sign into the PSN. No postings on line to indicate it was down. Switched back to the Sky router and all was fine.

I did notice this morning we now have a 2. IP address.

Could there be something on my old router which doesn't like 2. addresses?

Is there something I could have missed or not set up right which will cause it to work during the day but not on the evening? PC access was completely unaffected.

The 2. addresses used to belong to the US govt I think, but they were given back when the IP address pool ran out, and now sky have them. I don't think the old router will care about the WAN IP address. You could try cloning the MAC address of the sky router in the old router...

2 and 5 were AT&T I believe, now allocated to RIPE for european deployment.
