Just tried using a different router on sky, got my username and pass from the internet, but for some reason it wouldn't connect up, it said the authentication didn't work, i am on sky llu, will this service work with any router?.

you need a router that support MER and modifified DCHP cleint request

Oh right, maybe this router doesn't support that then, is that cause it is a llu service that i am on, does this router support it?.

having read your post I thought I would try my Draytek Router 2820N, using https://www.cm9.net/skypass/ to retrive my details and using these settings,
The settings required for Sky are-
Username and Password
Encapsulation: PPPoA
VPI/VCI: 0/38
Multiplexing: VC
MTU: 1500.
I'am on my internet with my Draytek 2820N

I don't think i could change the multiplexing and MTU in the router, the only thing i could change was the VPI/VCI which i had set to 0/38, maybe this router doesn't support the things the other person in the other post said it had to, for it to work?.

I also have the option to add a mac address from the old router to put in my draytek one, If you have that option try it out. BTW what router do you have ?

Just looked at the sebby and it only really shows little detail is there a online manual for it.

I think i did yeah, i reckon if i can change those things in the router it will work, but i think i just need to know if the router supports the things mentioned in the other post?.

Hi,
LLU went active in my exchange this time last year. The router Sky sent me connected via MER. However I have been able to replace the sky router with a Netgear DGND3700.
These are the settings pulled from it:
VPI 0
VCI 38
Multiplexing Method: VC-BASED
Encapsulation: PPPoA (PPP over ATM)

Is there a way to get the 2504n router to work with another isp and not just sky?.
