Based on your stats today you were lucky to get 6.3, your current speed is the best you can get from your line at the moment, there is no "spare noise margin" to allow a speed increase.

And is this data from the test socket? Always worth trying to see if it will go faster

I tried it in the test socket when i was on the phone to them and it was the same whats enoying me is that it was fine syncing at 6.3 and now its 5 after i switched off the router by mistake when it rebooted again it was at 5mg

|
Are the stats the same from the test socket, not just the speed? It could be the line is capped at 5Mbps but has additional noise margin in the test socket.

And is this data from the test socket? Always worth trying to see if it will go faster Its the same in the test socket .The fault has been raised to custormer solutions team so here's hoping

It concerns me that the up times are only around an hour and 20 hours respectively
Sky needs around 72 hours before its happy to increase the speed generally
Turning it off so often & not even giving it over a day is going to screw up your line speed (as you found out)
Plug it in & don't unplug it from now onwards
You need to get that right before sky reset DLM etc
|
|
|
|
thats because sky asked me to try the test socket and then back to the main socket with the speed droping with each change thats why

sky called out bt to ckeck my line the line is fine a few times sky have told me im on a 8mg connection the bt engineer says im on 8mg connection when i put my phone number in samknows site my exchange is BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
AOL LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
with my exchang having upgraded i thought it would be up to 24mg all tho i now i wont get any where near that sky are connecting me at 4mg

http://www.coolwebhome.co.uk/calc/calculator.php estimates based on your actual router data can be grabbed from that link.
You ARE on Sky LLU, which is an ADSL2+ service.
As Sky are saying 5 Meg is the maximum your line will support it is feasible that it is the Sky DLM system that is limiiting you. The Sky DLM tends to favour stability.
