Sky Fibre extract Login details - which router can be used ?

Hi Guys/Gals,

Hope to get a more definitive answer on here as I've asked this question on Skyuser forum and no one really got back to me.

Got Fibre being installed on 23rd Nov.
Currently on Sky ADSL and using my own modem/router combo with password extracted from an old Sky DG834GT (I also own a old Sky Sagem 2304n )

As I've been sent to new Sky hub for the fibre,which there is currently no way to extract username and password from (and I absolutely WANT to use my Netgear 3800 with DD-WRT as my router)

Can I use the extracted details from any of my old ADSL Sky routers to log in to the Fibre service ??

If not I have just purchased a Sky Sagem 2504n V6 of ebay for a £10, can I use the extracted details from this router for fibre ?

Any help much appreciated !!!

I think so long as a valid combination of username/password are supplied the Sky systems will be happy. Some MAC cloning may need to be done, which is what I had to do for ADSL2+ with an Asus router/modem.

It might be possible if you're up on ethernet sniffing using Wireshark - otherwise I suggest trying the passwords you have at hand and see what happens ; if not get the one from eBay.

Yep - and there are some instructions on SkyUser in what to sniff on the WAN port of a Sky router - if you have a hub (not switch) you can connect between the Sky router and the Openreach modem.

Someone at Skyuser has got back to me and confirmed that the username and pass from a Sagem 2504n V6 work with fibre and also the older 2404 aswell - so i should be covered.

I have 2504n incomming off ebay for a tenner so its no biggies.

I've got a another query now though....

Can a Sagem 2504n V6 be used actually on the Fibre service ?
I'm thinking of using initially that when the BTO eng comes to install (then swap for my 3800 running DD-WRT when he leaves)

This way i can sell my Sky hub unopened

If it has the fibre firmware - and sorry I have no idea how to tell.

In the Advanced section of the router the WAN setup tab has an extra option if the router has the fibre firmware.

The router mode can be switched between "Auto", "ADSL" or "WANoE Only"

The standard firmware does not have this option.
