Hi folks,
My mum has just changed ISPs from O2 to Sky after having a few issues with O2 (dead Netgear router, O2 router dropping connection etc).
I've set everything up for her (although to be fair the instructions were so simple I'm sure she could have managed it herself) and the broadband is up and running.
However she's only getting about 6Mbit/sec download and just over 0.5Mbit/sec upload.
Previously with O2 she was getting around 17Mbit/sec, and according to Samknows.com the exchange (Teignmouth in Devon) has Sky LLU available.
I just wondered if there was any sort of training period for the line where the speeds may vary or the line should run at the full speed.
If it helps the stats from the router are:
Connection Speed: 7002kbs downstream, 796kbs upstream
Line Attenuation: 16.0dB downstream, 10.4dB upstream
Noise Margin: 14.1dB downstream, 16.16dB upstream.
I just wondered if anyone could advise?
Ta,
Rob
