My friends who have wifi problems with the sky router, just plugged in another box via ethernet and left the Sky router in place. That stops any problems with Sky smile

Yes, A wireless access point by any chance, that would be one of the best ways to enhance WiFi

Plusnet Unlimited 21CN 4200/800 @ 4.2Km > TP-Link TD-W8968v3 - BQM IPv4
Plusnet Fibre Extra 66000/20000 @ 450m > HG612 (Unlocked) > Linksys LRT224 - BQM IPv4

Stupidly they're more expensive than a router - so a decent 3 stream N dual band router is around £70 (TPLink) and use it as an access point. Being on an ethernet connection to the sky router gives more flexibility with positioning too.

plusnet unlimited fibre - 2 Jun 14 - 470m - 80/20 - Summer/dry sync 55/9.4, Winter/wet sync 52/9.1
15 years broadband (1999 ntl:cable trial) - Asus RT-AC68U with HG612 - BQM - Summer PN speed - Winter PN speed

I know, I've been looking for a decent WAP for a while, I ended up getting a LAPAC1200 on offer at £100 but then needed another... (Coverage)

I ended up setting up a Archer C7 from old setup as Access Point/Switch and seems to be working OK.

I'm also finding it hard to find a 5Ghz only WAP as 2.4Ghz is un-usable in my household..

My friends in flats find similar issues especially on Sat nights when everyone else is using their 2.4Ghz networks flat out smile

The congestion isn't to bad now as my neighbor on the left has just switched to Sky Hub from Virgin Hub (VMDG480) so the wifi switch's to a different channel as VM Hub was consistently following my network..

and my neighbor to the right has a HH5 and I set that up for them so I set the channel to 1.. mine is 11 and left is 6...

But then lefty's baby monitor killed upstairs WiFi after around 8-9pm so ended up forcing everything to 5Ghz and I've now wired the printer and plan to bin the Now TV box.

The Virgin Hub's by Netgear are very strange; I've seen two follow my channel! Luckily it seems Virgin are replacing these with newer ones that are by another company. Yes, baby monitors and TV senders are death to 2.4ghz :-/

I've got a Moto G phone that can only do 2.4, but gave up with the Now TV box, and friends use a Roku which has an Ethernet port.
