latest sky hub and dhcp auth

can the auth information be taken from the latest sky hub provided to FTTC customers so I can use my own router?

If you're referring to the black SR102 (which I believe is the latest), then yes.

Their FTTC service uses MER authentication instead of normal username / password authentication. You will need a router capable of sending DHCP option 60 or 61 (can't remember which) plus the router needs to be capable of specifying the VLAN tag (Sky use 101).

I use a Cisco 887VA-W which works without any problems.

My router supports it as there is a guide on skyuser website for it, so thanks for answering the question

(choose the Sagem option the SR101/102 routers).

That said, you might even find that you don't need to provide any credentials at all; I think this is supported on some exchanges.
