Do you still need to do that? I thought Sky accept anything as long as it's in the correct format now

They want more money for the Q hub. I know one Sky Fibre customer whom complained heavily as his SR102 that was 4 days old failed, and they said "the Q hub is £65" so he told them he'd cancel the whole thing and they eventually relented and provided the Q hub!

The SR102 is not even 5ghz, so pretty ancient frown

this is why im going to use my hg612 with the sp08 firmware with an r7000, bt modem provides better sync speeds and latency, r7000 is a machine.

well... sky has already been connected a day early xD, speed is at 66/20, i should get more i did on bt, but i dont have my hg612 yet, my old one was binned and it gives me like 5-10Mbps more than the hh5a from bt, so i reckon i can squeeze more out.

also SINGLE FIGURE PING!!!!!!!!!!! get in.

im getting packet loss and im only getting 7Mbps download, 4 upload with the sr102...

i think i have either congestion or maybe my connection hasnt been fully connected up.

synced at 66/20.

Seems fine to me. Hop 2 de-prioritises ICMP ping responses as they don't really matter, hops 5 and 6 don't respond to pings.

The fact that hops beyond 2 respond in normal times says that 2 is behaving fine when passing data.

The first thing to try to get that fixed is for Sky to reboot their gateway

that is fine, sky have routers that dont respond to pings or respond at an extremely low rate.

e.g. my dslam is always * on traceroutes, but on a mtr it does process about 1% of ping packets.

i found the issue for my packet loss, poor wifi speeds on the sr102, all sorted now, how do i change my pro profile? is there one that could reduce latency further? i cant see anywhere online where to change it.

You can't change profiles anymore as Fibre Pro was replaced by Fibre Max.

You could never change profiles on Fibre Pro. It was always promised but never materiialised The only option you got was a static IP address.

with 9ms latency you almost certainly already on fast path the lowest latency profile. Whether you stay like that depends on line stability.

It would be useful if it were possible to see BQMs of people on same exchange. It would be a great insight into performance at exchange and individual ISP level.

e.g. If an ISP is claiming BTW or Openreach is at fault but BQMs from other ISPs on same exchange look all good then an ISP not performing as it should would be exposed.

Single figure latency yet you're asking how you can reduce it more?!
Best I get is 14ms in SW Wales frown

DLM will probably have a stab at enabling G.INP after a week or so, which will increase latency by a negligible amount, also reduces IP profile by a tiny amount too, but worth it. I'd rather G.INP than DLM having a go at adding interleaving

As far as I recall, Sky have Openreach provision FTTC on the 'stable' profile.

urgh -_- i hacked the sr102 for the password and have plugged my r7000 into my hg612 with sp08 firmware and because of me disconnecting the internet several times, dlm has kicked in...

ive seen an added 16ms increase in latency and my speed has dropped by around 4Mbps, sky also tell me there is an external fault.

touching up on the profiles, sky told me there is stable or speed, and i asked to be put on speed and it will update within the next couple of hours, im so peed at dlm...

how long do i need to wait until it goes.

Thats news to me. I have always wanted the speed profile due to my ES but sky have always said stable is the only profile. Be interesting to see if you actually get changed. Do you upload your stats as we should be able to see your profile.

Thanks
