Sky Fibre at non LLU exchange

Have Sky changed their policy regarding providing FTTC where there is no Sky service at the exchange?

Previously. I was not able to place and order for FTTC now it appears I can. According to Sam Knows there is no Sky equipment at the exchange.

Samknows is very unlikely to be fully up to date. It is probably that Sky have installed but the Samknows database isn't updated and possibly never will be as their checker is used less and less these days.

The handover for FTTx services on your exchange is Amlwch (WNAML).

We're just in the process of having a cabinet installed, EO lines to a smallish rural exchange SLRAM. Not sure where the fibre services come from?

Your handover exchange for FTTx is Retford (SLRF).

Would I be correct thinking that means we could order FTTC from a LLU provider, but probably not phone+fibre from the same LLU provider?

Yes. Even if the provider doesn't have LLU kit in your exchange, they should still be able to offer the phone service as WLR.

I knew the fibre often comes from elsewhere on these smaller exchanges, but until I saw your thread, I never gave the LLU issue a thought.

A relative of mine has had Sky Fibre at a non-LLU exchange for a few years now, it works great. Their voice service is provided by Sky Talk over WLR3.

On non-LLU exchanges with FTTC, Sky wisely will not offer their BT Wholesale based ADSL product (if it even still exists), but they will offer fibre.

The only thing you miss out on is the (excellent) Sky Talk Shield call blocker, as this requires Sky hardware at the exchange.
