Line down

[link to this post]

So I switched to Sky Superfast and ended up with VoIP/SOGEA and today, after only 12 days of service, the worst happened - my wife called to say "no internet". I don't recall the last time I lost internet connection, it's certainly a long time ago, and rare. So I went to the Sky app from my mobile, did a line check, it reports a fault external to my premises requiring an engineer to be booked. Done. I think it said it can take up to two weeks to resolve, TWO WEEKS!!! I do hope I read that wrong.

And, as expected, the phone line is also down, but if this is a line fault then I most likely would have lost the phone line anyway.

What a weird coincidence, very annoying mad.

If fault goes on for more than 2 days automatic compensation should kick in.

Not unusual with SOGEA lines. If somone is working on another line and they dont check properly they may think your pair is not in use.
Hopefully a simple fix in a day or 2 at most.

When you said Ďno phone line eitherí you donít mean from the NTE do you ?

SOGEA wonít have a dial tone on the line, only from the router.

I did not, th ephone is now plugged in to the router, and it of course was dead. I fully expected no phone if no internet, it was just a passing (confirmative) comment. But as I mentioned, it's all back up and working now, I guess the outage was 2-3 hours.
