IPv6 much slower

[link to this post]

I experience about only half the download speed for IPv6 connections vs IPv4.

Check these two results:

Think Broadband IPv4: 72.87 Mbps
Think Broadband IPv6: 30.91 Mbps

Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi, having issues with IPV6, got broadband quality monitoring running on my line.

Latency is horrendous and I'm getting anything from 2hr to 4hr time blocks where packet loss is 100%

I have a IPV4 BQM running as well and that shows a normal broadband line.

It's causing issues, inconsistent connections

Have you tried running a BQM on both IPV 4 & 6 on your line?

NB my sig is wrong, I'm with Sky, at the moment wish I was with AAISP!

I`m a IPV6 native
WRT54G openwrt backfire rc4 via AAISP

Does IPv6 work during these periods e.g can you reach IPv6 sites like https://ipv6.google.com If so that sounds like your router is blocking incoming ICMPv6 requests. If everything is working correctly then https://test-ipv6.com/ should give you a 10/10 score.

Didn't realise I can post live graph of my BQM

My IPV6 Broadband Ping

My IPV4 Broadband Ping

EDIT:
ROFL no wonder the IPV6 BQM was showing blocks of red, it's not my router address! Years ago I might have preserved and tried to learn some more. TBH all I want now is it to work, or at least get customer service that doesn't rely on me jumping through 15 hoops.

Still have odd symptoms, around WIFI calling, inconsistent speed, connections, and running ipv6 test webpages I get inconsistent results depending on time and device.

I've tried sky they tell me their network and my connection is fine.

My IPV6 Global Broadband Ping

My IPV6 Mobile ping

Global ping, I assume is now my router, is quite good, but there is a big delay and latency on the next hop to my mobile.

I get similar poor graph when pinging laptop

Is my router knackered?

I have power cycled and done hard reset (rear button)

No change

Regards

Quite normal you will get latency and some packet loss when pinging devices on Wi-Fi. Often battery powered devices will put their Wi-Fi to sleep when there is little network traffic and only wake up periodically to see if any data is waiting for them, this can easily give higher latencies of up to a second, and occasionally packet loss.
