Re: HomeMove from one Fibre area to another

Yep - SamKnows & BT Wholesale say Ulgham. But there's an exchange at the end of the road out of the village too. There was Openreach engineers parked in the yard to it too.

BT Wholesale says Ulgham exchange served but Cabinet 1. I'd love to know where this cabinet is lol

Can you find the location on Google Street View.

Widdrington Station does not appear to have its own exchange and all the postcodes in village connect to Ulgham exchange

Cabinet 1 is at https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@55.2405126,-1.6245232...

Is where everyone says the Ulgham exchange is, but actually that was abandoned a long time ago and it is actually at https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@55.2411384,-1.6277079...

Updating my own records now, so while in Widdrington Station it is still called the Ulgham exchange.

That's the one!

So the Ulgham one is disused now, but Openreach etc still call the Widdrington Station one Ulgham?

Could this be why Sky are saying fibre isn't available to me, when requesting a Home Move, but is available when I act as a new customer?

It's a bit silly if you ask me tongue

I'll keep contacting Sky in the meantime, and update you further on what they say.

It might be that I take out a contract in my partners name.

Yes, that should work and get you fibre free for 12 months.

Well, currently we pay £36.40.

£10 Fibre Unlimited
£10 Sky TV Original
£16.40 Line Rental

If Sky cancel the broadband & line rental through Home Move, that'll leave us with £10 a month for Sky TV Original bundle.

Then, my partner could take out Fibre Unlimited for £10 a month, plus £16.40 line rental. Therefore, it'll bring us back to £36.40.

Hopefully Sky don't cancel the order though wink

Yeah - that'd never work as we stream & download a fair bit of software being Computer Science university students.
