TalkTalk working ok for me

[link to this post]

FYI - My (or rather my girlfriend's) modem package arrived earlier than expected (beginning of July rather than August), connected straight away via a Netgear wireless modem/router. Only problems experienced was entirely my fault - I changed the login password on the TT site (which is rather too easy to do) and hadn't changed it on the modem. Not the fastest connection, but all in all, with the phone deal very good value for money. Only downside is getting in contact with customer support - emails can take days to be anwswered and you could spend a lot of money on support phone calls. Also there doesn't seem to be a 'Service Status' annoucement on their site which might save a few calls to customer support.

It seems you must be the lucky millionth customer. For myself, I have never had anything go right. I have never had an email answered at all! Not in days, weeks or months. In the past 16 months I think I must have sent in excess of 10 emails to customer services and have never received one single reply. If TalkTalk provide your phone service then calls to customer services are free, as long as you use your registered phone line to call. There did used to be some sort of service status meter on their web page but it disappeared when it became obvious that it would expose their flaws.
