FAO: PUDDLES & TALKTALK BOY

[link to this post]

For the attention of Puddles and TalkTalk Boy.

In a phone conversation with your 2ndline support on 19th December regarding speeds and LLU issues, I was told that I would be 'upgraded' to 2mb speed on my next billing date.
This was 27th December and no changes appear to have as yet been made.

Is one of you able to have a look at this for me and advise when the 2mb speed will be enabled.

Can you also please confirm that my exchange (Basingstoke, Hants) will not be unbundled by TalkTalk until December 2007 as per your 2nd line support operator.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hello

You are currently on IPStream 1000
An order to regrade this to IPStream 2000 was submitted to BTWholesale on 19/12/06. The order is in the status "CoolingOff". The regrade should complete within the next ten working days.

Thanks

Further to my original email regarding promised speed upgrade to 2mb.

As per 'talktalk2ndline' person, this has now happened well within the stated 10 days and I am now getting around 1.9.

Would still welcome some comment from our 'friends' at TalkTalk as to when the Basingstoke Exchange is to be LLU'd so that I can get nearer the elusive 'up to 8mb'.

Thanks you.

Aaaaaaagh!

Is doesn't do to be too premature does it.

Tonights speed test shows it is back down to 1mb.

Should I be expecting some variance for the next 10 days or so after the Ipstream upgrade from 1mb to 2?

Any thoughts very welcome.

Thanks

Mike

BT minimum acceptable speeds for a 2Meg or greater connection are 400kbps. At peak times throughput speeds do reduce, but should not fall below the above figure.

Hello,
The training period with ADSLMAX is simply to set the MSR (Maximum stable rate) and the FTR (Fault threshold) these are used for fault resolution and performance guidence.

The training period with ADSLMAX is 'ongoing' and the service will continue to sync at lower speeds should it need to.
