Firstly i'd like to say how pleased/releaved I am that this site is in existance.
I Joined TalkTalk on the 15th December 2006, I didn't start using the service until the 4th January 2007 as I was away for the holidays.
Since I have used the combined service of Telephony with Broadband I have been taring my hair out, bearing in mind it has been only 5 Days!!!
I have used the Thinkbroadband Java application to test how much download speed I am getting from TalkTalk, it has so far revealed that at peak I am only getting 2.5MB as you know it should be 8MB, I called the B.B customer service team yesterday to ask them when I would be upgraded to 8MB, to my discomfort they told me I was already receiving 8MB, I told the customer service agent that I had been using a web based application that has reported a peak of only 2.5MB, he said nothing, so I left it at that point.
Since Sunday when my mum had reported to my partner that she couldnt get hold of me via the telephone I have been having issues with my Talktalk telephone line, firstly my telephone wasn't ringing but there was unanswered voicemails on the system, I could phone out at this point but the telephone wasn't ringing in, I called the phone line fault dept yesterday to report it and they said they would escalate it to the engineers, fine I thought not a big deal! however I returned home today to no telephone line at all. I tried for 40 mins to get through to the phone faults and gave up.
I then returned to the B.B issue and again called the B.B faults dept, I spoke to a helpful lady who said that there is possibly a fault on the line "ahem" and that she would escalate it to the 2nd line engineers and I would recieve a call back within 48hrs.
21.00hrs this evening I tried the landline again, I could hear a dial tone, tried to call it from my mobile, no ringing. Then I picked up the receiver and heard the voicemail tone, retrieved the message and hungup, went to make a call and the voicemail tone was still there, dialled in to 1571 and "no new voicemail messages"
I await with anticipation to the resolution to these problems that I am having with Talktalk at the moment! are they just teathing problems or something more sinister??
I was using Tiscali for nearly 3 years with only 1 issue with them, the connection cut out when I was using the webcam and viewing web pages at the same time.
Since using Talktalk I have to reload nearly every page that I visit.
Most of my daily routine consists of using the internet, so I am by far impressed with Talktalk.
I hope that someone from that company reads these posts! and what they don't know is that I am a trainee P.C Engineer hahah
So if they don;t buck their ideas up, another customer will be lost.
