Talk Talk Connection for New Customers

[link to this post]

Hi,

My parents had talk talks phone service and after the birth of their latest grandchild decided to upgrade their package to broadband. This service was due to be turned on for Dec 18th, well this date came and nothing happened - they did get a modem and info pack, Dad called Talk Talk and was told "It will be on by the end of the week". Nothing happened at the end of the week either, so I phoned - I was told "why would you expect it to be connected as it was cancelled at the end of November" after a few discussions I was told 6 days - this would have made it Boxing Day, which was clearly not going to happen. So I asked again and was told 6th Jan, well this date came and went, and when ever we call now we are just told xx days where you can replace xx with any number you feel like! We have even been told on one occassion that BT have stopped connecting all ISP so the delay is down to them! I just think that Talk Talk customer service just lie and say anything they can to get disgruntled customers to go away.

Does anyone have any ideas what we can do or who we can talk to to get broadband turned on, or should I get them to cancel and go to a provider who can provide?

At this rate their grandson will be old enough to drive down to see them and they won't need webcams etc!!!!

Do you know if this will be an unbundled or classic IPStream based connection?

Some have mentioned a three week gap in connecting unbundled customers, not sure whether its Openreach or others, but have only heard it in relation to Talk Talk

I have no idea what the connection is - the telephone exchange is Newhaven, which I doubt is unbundled.

I just want someone at Talk Talk to say what is really going on and to give a date that they can keep. I just hate being lied to every time I call!
