LLU Date?

[link to this post]

Hi

Ordered talktalk with free broadband end of July 06. Phone changed within a few weeks but they gave a broadband enable date of end of Sep. To be fair it went live in first week of Sep so they delivered on what they promised.

Since then I have been on 1meg capped and also to be fair it's been 100% rock solid. No complaints at all so far.

I called talktalk the other evening to enquire as to when my exchange (AYR in Scotland) would be unbundled. The lady I spoke to would not give a date but insisted it would be "very soon" Q. How soon is soon, weeks or months? "very soon that's all I can say" she replied.

Is there any way I can obtain a date for my exchange being unbundled. The samknows site doesn't even list AYR...... which is kind of worrying.

Thanks in advance

Hi thanks for your advice

I emailed TT but to date have received no response, therefore this being BH Friday I decided to tackle them by phone. I managed to get an unbundle date out of the call centre of 18th July - so for anyone on the Ayr exchange, this is your date apparently - whereupon (referencing another post I have seen on this forum regarding TalkTalk's policy of a more than 10 week wait for LLU) I requested my profile be changed to 8meg. The operator at the call centre then insisted for the next 20minutes (at 10p per minute) that my line and BT's equipment wouldn;t support more than 1meg and it would only be when the line was unbundled that I could possibly get a faster speed.

After about 3million requests to speak with a supervisor or be put through to someone on 2nd line a supervisor came on the line and whilst still insisting that both my line and BT's exchange equipment could not supprt anything faster than 2meg she agreed to remove the 1meg cap so that I will at least get 2meg. "within 5 working days"

The advisors in the call centres are unable to move you onto BT's ADSL max service no matter how much begging you do. The only way you can get a faster line is by either being LLU'd or be one of the random chosen people in talktalks ADSL Max trial.
