Talk Talk Router: What's the management port?

[link to this post]

Just set a friend up on Talk-Talk broadband this afternoon; she had the supplied Talk-Talk (Philips/SMC?) router.

I thought I'd set it up to allow me to do remote management from my static IP but I can't get through (I can ping the router OK)

Can anyone tell me what TCP port is used for remote management on this system? I've tried 1900 and 8080 as suggested by a few searches (as well as straight TCP/80) but it doesn't work.
Thanks
Phil

Hi

It is managed over port 80

You must enable this feature; it is not enabled "out of the box"

To enable remote management:
1) connect to the router's web interface by navigating to its IP address within a web browser. The default IP address for this router is 192.168.2.1
2) Click on Advanced Settings
3) Click on System
4) Click on Remote Management

Thanks for your mail.

I did get this working eventually - the main problem being that the user's internet connection had dropped, hence my lack of success remotely!

Just for the record - the port was TCP/8080 - the model is a SNA5630NS/05 and in fact it did say this in the router's online help - I had tried that too but of course the router didn't have an IP at that point so it wasn't much use!

Thanks anyway
Phil
