All People Complaining about TalkTalk CS

[link to this post]

Hi all - I registered on this forum many a monn ago to get help when I switched from the old 512kbps service to the up to 8mbps service and signed a new 18mth contract over a year ago. My exchange in not LLU but uses the BT wholesale service where I pay TT for the services of BT. I in first instance had loads of probllems over a 6 month period of poor CS and poor line DL as wel as UL speeds intermittment etc.

It took a bit of browsing on the Times website to find a certain person in charge of TT and to email him in person and I got a very prompt and responsive email back along with a call the following morning from his team and within one month they sorted out the problems and refunded me my phone bill payments for one month as a token gesture... I to was suffering what could only amount to severe capping even though I had not reached the monthly 40GB allowance....LOL

Yes I know there customer support can be poor but there are some people who work for them who are trying to help and did sort my problems out....of which one later last year was caused by flooding problems to the cable underground of which bt has to sort for TT...I have my line rental with TT...

Please take note of MTU settings on this forum - they are important - Why can't nothing be straight out of the box. Patience can be rewarded as I for the past 4 months have had stable connection ( always have had) speeds varying from 6.5mb to 9mb at certain times of the day...

Take care all and happy email address hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good point!

apologies for the lapse.

noted with interest you have a les paul and cornford amp, so you obviously like things that work properly!

can't afford a cornford as yet, but have les paul. great stuff

Contact Customer Support? You'll be very lucky if you can ever get through to them even if you have a few hours to waste. Lately they have just been disconnecting phone calls and not even letting you hang on for hours.

Customer support obviously need retraining as it seems that no one knows how the system works. I applied in January for Phone and Broadband . The phone was delayed and would have stayed that way until I asked what was going on and they told me a form had to be filled in and it had not been. Eventually I got the phone line working but then the broadband has been delayed and although I was told it would be up and running on several occasions it has not done so. I have now found out that a form needed filling in in January that had not been filled in and again I have now been promised it will be up and running in another 28 days. Four months to get your broadband up and running . Ridiculous. I am still not sure if I will have it in a months time as I have been told that every time I have inquired. I only hope that it works well when it does arrive.
