All good my end. Not that I would want to use the HD feature on peak time because of my low bandwidth package tongue

How is your usage of it? you need 800kbps for low quality, 1500kbps for mid, and 4500kbps for HD.

Well customer support is about as much use as a kick in the [censored] and cannot give me a straight answer, if this was any other isp's thread i would have expected several answers so either no one comes here or no one uses iplayer or no one gives a s**t.

Who in their right mind is going to sign up for a 18 month contract when they cannot get the simplest of questions answered?

My ISP is not the cheapest but customer support is free, I have only rang them a handful of times in 3.5 years and have always got my problems sorted promptly, i guess you get what you pay for.

Well done TT you just lost a customer.

Yes but only by one customer, i was expecting a lot more posts from both sides of the fence so either there are very few TT customers who use the forum, the opposite is true but no one uses Iplayer, or a combination of the two.

Either way it does not fill me with confidence, Ive also spent several minutes talking to their customer service staff about this and could not get a straight answer, the whole experience has not been a good one.

TT CS is not good so most informed customers use the TT members forum. iPlayer is not throttled permanently like P2P, but the overall CPW network performance has limits at bottlenecks and if everyone is downloading the same episode of EastEnders at 8.30pm, slowdowns can occur. Usually any limitations in network performance are sorted out quickly and full details are posted on the forum about any congested exchanges etc. CPW are proud of their LLU network and consider it superior to most of their competitors. See statement by Chairman at last CPW quarterly results briefing on the CPW corporate website.

Overall apart from the phone CS, TT is very good indeed in a number of details. Have a look at the SamKnows technical survey. For instance on fast path I get 12mS pings to the BBC server. On the TT members forum everyone can check their on net performance speed, and then compare it to off net speed testers like the one on this site. I find them to be almost the same most of the time including at peak periods. I wouldn't be thinking of moving elsewhere either on price or performance.

Hmm good question. If its streaming you'll be fine. downlaods from iplayer are sometimes from other users over a p2p connection, so possibly. Though, its not really a p2p application so im not sure. ask on the member forums.

Ohh we are really REALLY sorry for not doing our jobs by replying to you quickly. Wait, this is not our jobs, and someone saying yes it will work with no other posts will be for the OP to assume everything is cool.

Seriously dude, its iPlayer... if it works don't moan, if it doesn't go to your user forum and [censored] about it there. The Admins there can deal with you and sort out your problems.

GoodLuck.

So you ask a question in a forum get one answer and assume that is how it is, you have a lot to learn.

So you think it is a good idea to sign up for a 18 month contract and hope one of the important things you use regularly will work and if not its OK because you can moan to the Admins?
