Well... Solved One Problem!

Remember me mentioning that our phone had developed a funny dial tone?

Oh! - How Embarrassing

Funny Dial Tone = Voicemail

You See...
It was only when we started our new contract with AOL + Including Line Rental
That we got... caller ID & Voicmail ( Never had them when we were with BT )
I know how to work Caller ID
But I didn't know exactly how Voicmail worked.

So! - To Cut A Long Story Short...
99% of AOL Help pages have gone missing. ( Apart from the AOL help pages about TT email )
So I decided to have a look at Talk Talks help pages. ( After All... Both Same Company )
And...

Oh! - Well!
At least I haven't got to phone AOL now.

Just wish getting rid of the flamin disconnections problem was as easy as phoning 1571

Any News?

Yesterday Was Another Terrible Day
LCP Down - & - LCP Up .. All Day Long!
Also...
Ended up at about 6pm with the Internet slowed to a crawl.
It was as though it really wanted to disconnect but my router was holding on a bit to hard.
So!
Ended up putting...
MTU back to AOL's stated 1450 - & - Back on Talk Talk's / AOL's ( 62. ) DNS.

NOTE: Not sure if OpenDNS effects throughput speed.
Hard to tell ( Test ) when the internet is so unstable anyway.

Rebooted Router Again This Morning!
&
Not had any disconnections - So Far!

Of Course... This means Nowt!
Coz the disconnections are totally random - & - Law unto themselves

Took about 60 seconds to come back .. Not Bad!
It's when it starts taking 5 to 10 minutes.. Start To Worry!

Progress is being made on this and we are already seen reports of some customers seeing an improvement in service, here is the latest update:

We have removed the QoS configuration facing all backhaul circuits which connect via the Leeds NPE on Monday. A comparison was made on backhaul utilisation over the 24 hour period, and no change was observed. Yesterday we removed the QoS configuration from 10 more nodes, and we will complete the remainder today. We then need to go into a re-test period.

That's Great News!

However!
They certainly haven't got round to fixing my exchange ( Connah's Quay ) just yet.
Disconnections have been absolutely dreadful this morning
More... OFF - Than - ON

In Fact!
I'd say the last 3 days have been some of the worst since this whole thing started.
Not Just Disconnections
But also noticing really bad and obvious slow downs at certain times of day.
5pm - to - 6pm
Just gets slower and slower until a speed test won't even run
9mbps one minute ... 0.50mbps the next minute.
Only thing to do in the end... Reboot My Router!
Note: I'm Not IP Stream ... I'm On LLU

Oh! - Well...
Lets hope that things will get better from now on.

Disconnections are the worst they have ever been
Turning RED approx every 5 to 10 minutes.

For Me.... Still Not Fixed!

Despite me clearing my router log before going to bed last night....
Just had to clear it again
As there was a list ( LCP Down | LCP Up ) as long as my arm.
&
Just as always... Did Not Lose Sync!

Sync speed is exactly the same as it was when I last rebooted the router yesterday at about 12.30pm
Down = 12792 | Up = 1020
