Stats advice?

Could somebody please look over my stats and advise? I live a stone's throw from the exchange and was syncing around 19000mbps, getting around 16mb down speed, prior to switching to the Pro package yesterday. I know there is a possibility of an exchange fault, but would appreciate your wisdom. of course, the Pro package offers speeds of up to 24mb.

I don't suppose you have any stats recorded from before your switch to Pro or do you know what line profile you were on? Most likely you've been switched to a different line profile (slower, but potentially more stable), and you just need to get this changed, via the TTMF, to the profile that you used to be on - then you're sync speed will return to what you had before.

When you switch to PRO your profile is automatically reset, if you post this in the TT forum one of the OCE's will put you on a faster profile.

Standard Pro profile is 12db which is set for all new users. With that profile I got 17meg sync. The guys on the TalkTalk forum moved me to a 9db profile which gave me 19meg sync. I am now on a 6db profile which gives me 21meg sync. So you should see another 4meg on a 6db profile. But it all depends on the line noise, to much noise and you will get frequent router resets on the faster profiles.

To give you an idea on the 9db profile my typical uptime was 500 hours plus. On the 6db profile I am getting about 200 hours. I don't find it a problem as the reset always seens to happen in the early hours of the morning.

The fact that you were syncing at greater than 8Mb means you were already on a 24Mb profile. You have now confirmed Interleaved and it might have been fastpath before (hence the faster speeds).

Ask for a 24FSNR12 profile via the TT forums and move the SNT down to 9 (then possibly 6) of your connection is still stable, after a period of checking.

There is no difference between your old speeds and your new speeds on the Pro package - the difference is the extra benefits (router, etc) that you get.
