I'm not had great experiences with live chat support provided by Virgin and BT. A classic instance I had with BT was not being able to view bills online, despite registering and going through all the necessary procedures - there were just error messages instead. I tried to use live chat to sort this and after explaining the problem, they suggested that I should try logging into www.bt.com and viewing my account... Doh - that's what I had told them wasn't working for me! Anyway, had to report the problem via web forms in the end, and it got sorted after about 4 weeks - this was on a business account too I might add. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I can see TT doing just as good a job with live chat laugh.

For the record I'm having the same problem, our line went live on the 14th but their site refuses the accept my customer and phone numbers. Not useful.

Not useful at all. I am having constant drop outs and my phone is not working at all. The phone has never worked from the day I got my new line installed. The internet was fine until 2 days after my cooling off period. Because of all this I have had to call customer support from my mobile, not the cheapest option but because my details aren't working when I try and register I cant do nowt online either. Great eh.

Their support has never been online when I'm online. I submitted a request/complaint through their form that it tells you to use if you have issues. That was over a week ago now but still nothing. I've just tried to re-register to no avail.

I tried ringing their support but apparently they are experiencing extremely long wait times. Joy.

The Forum Support Staff (OCE) generally work business hours monday to friday.
It probably depends on staffing levels also as to whether the live registration area will be manned, as the working of the support threads would most likely take preference

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most

That's the one I used in the first place. I'll fill it out again but it feels like a waste of time.

Hi

Having had major issues with my broadband connection on talktalk and having had an engineers visit confirming (this was not my fault, due to incorrect set up etc) and having received a text message every couple of days since then saying 'this has been escalated to senior engineers' who will contact you with in 48 hours... then nothing until more text messages saying is the problem fixed, which of course it isn't.. and then the same loop occurs ie 'this has been escalated to senior engineers' who will contact you with in 48 hours and so on blah, blah....

I wanted to register on the talk talk members forum website, as it seems that is a fairly good way of getting some help / action...

But I just get a msg saying:

"Oops... Something went wrong.
Your telephone / account number combination is missing from our database or the account is no longer active. You must have an active account to access the Members Forum"

which can't be correct.

So I registered on this forum here that I discovered while googling registration problems for talktalk members forum.

I have sent emails to the email mentioned here, but still no response. Any advice?

Thanks

the OCE only work office hours , its not a 24 hour service , so depending on when you sent the email and how busy they are , greatly effects the time it takes to get answered .

Its not a perfect support set-up but the one we have found to work best out of a bad lot .
