Who has asked TT for a mac or is considering leaving ?

[link to this post]

TT are just abysmal, who has taken the 1st step in getting away from them ?

In my instance,

moved from another isp to talk talk
turns out TT sales lied through their teeth
5 days of keystone cops shambles
raised hell with ahem "support" and demanded my mac
got it and went to idnet
idnet great at first , but went down the pan big time
got my mac and went to O2 LLU and I couldnt be happier, O2 LLU is awesome

demanding your mac from TT is the 1st step to your happiness

who is or has taken the 1st step to happiness, and dont bother replying jack or woweebert, we all know what you will say and I dont want another spitting match with you pair, this is to the rest of the people.

Not everyone can request a MAC as easy as you have though. If Talk Talk have taken over their line, no MAC can be issued frown

I think we all know how happy you are now why not run along to your own ISP's forum and spread the word.

who is or has taken the 1st step to happiness,

I love the way you post here as if you are doing anyone a favour, are there any depths you will not stoop to have a pop at TT ?

Why do you troll here you haven't been a TT customer for years I cannot imagine how sour those grapes are.

I came from IDNet a great ISP but at £25 per month a little expensive for what they offer, I am surprised they have "gone down the pan" as you put it as in the 4 plus years i was with them they were great, i have checked the forum here and there is only 5 posts in the last month I would have thought there would be a lot more if things are as bad as you make out.

Unlike you i have a life and dont troll other ISP,s forums but I visited the O2 forum just now and was quite surprised at the amount of recent negative threads over there, a few examples below, looks like the grass isn't always greener. wink

This is a forum i have every right to post a reply especially when you the resident troll visits, you rubbish TT at every opportunity yet your wonderful ISP is having its share of problems and you are here in a forum of an ISP you haven't been a customer of for years telling everyone how great they are, oh the irony. crazy

In your personal case... Ok, so you had a bad experience as a TalkTalk customer, so you left and now you're happy as an O2 customer. Seriously, I am happy for you since we all want to be happy with our broadband service, but do you not have anything better to do? Continually regurgitating your personal bad experience here gets boring very fast. The fact is that people have had and will continue to have bad experiences with TalkTalk, whilst others will have no problems with the service and are more than happy to stay. The same can be said about pretty much any company. Is it not time for you to move on?

Personally, my first choice was O2/Be LLU, but their availablity is poor - they have not unbundled many exchanges in comparison to other ISPs (not just TalkTalk). I chose TalkTalk LLU instead 2 years ago, and I'm still a TalkTalk customer and am not locked into any contract. So, no, demanding a MAC would not be my 1st step to happyness - I'm happy where I am. Besides, requesting a MAC would be a seriously pointless idea on TT LLU.

Happy anywhere, as long as it ISNT talk talk.

And not IDNet either, of course laugh.

Looking at your opening post, in which you attack an ISP you are not even with any more, I don't think you are in any position to criticise others for defending that ISP if they are happy with it.

If you disagree with that, as you are quite entitled to do, I would suggest that the easiest way to resolve the difficulty is for you to stick to your own ISP's forum and let TalkTalk members stick to theirs.

I was on a Tiscali product and then was migrated to the TalkTalk systems. Admittedly, the performance still was very lacklustre; but I was very surprised when I requested my MAC off TalkTalk.

I used the online 'contact us' form to request my code. Within 3 hours, I had my MAC emailed to me. The next day, I then had a phone call from TalkTalk stating the code, the lady didn't try and convince me to stay with TalkTalk for a lower price, just gave me the code and was still very polite! Later that day, I then received two texts with the code. Finally, later that week I received a letter from TalkTalk with the code.

Seems slightly like overkill, but I'm not complaining! Although the service TalkTalk offer may be not great for some people from what I've encountered their customer support was very good.

Admittedly this is my first post, but I've been lurking on these forums now for a long time and all you ever seem to post about is how bad TalkTalk is. I admit that for me it wasn't the best performance 24/7, but it's still a good product for the price. I don't see why you feel the need to be a keyboard warrior and always shout about how bad you perceive TalkTalk to be.

My Dad. It took quite a bit of chasing but he got his Mac after a month. Actually I think he's being transferred to his new ISP tomorrow. I'm dreading the tech, support call :-/

Tbh I'm not expecting a huge improvement in the service. TT were very reliable even though he was on their IPStream service. Up till then I had been impressed with TT and was looking forward to seeing how well their LLU service performed.

His reason for changing was the shameful way TT treated him and the high cost of their service. It comes to something when an existing TT customer on an LLU exchange chooses to move to BTi(*) to get a better deal. The worst bit was that he very nearly gave up on broadband completely. The idea of not having access to the internet while visiting them is too frightening to imagine smile

(*)Yeah, I know. I tried to get him onto PlusNet but he wouldn't have it. Even the 18 month contract didn't put him off.
