What is going on

[link to this post]

I have just seen my download and upload speeds go down by about a third 3805 to 2713 over the last few weeks. It also seems that they have uprated the connection from 8 to 24, without telling me. I never requested an upgrade because I knew that the distance and the state of the connection [I think crosstalk at the exchange} would give me no extra speed .Please what should I do. THANKS

I had my 8MB service upgraded to 24MB. Again, without being requested. I noticed my download speeds had increased dramatically so fortunately I have the opposite problem with downloads typically between 16- 17.5 MB smile TT estimated speed for my line is 18MB so I'm quited satisfied.

You could post in the TT Members Forum asking an OCE (Online Community Executive) for assistance. Best to start a new thread. They only work normal business hours and not at weekends. Be patient, they will get round to you!

Hi,

All TalkTalk LLU customers now get an upto 24 meg connection. If you've noticed a reduction in speed it could be that dynamic line management has amended your profile due to instability etc. Its hard to say without looking at your line stats etc. If you can post on the TalkTalk forums we'll be able to take a look for you.

Cheers
Em x

nothing is likely to happen till Monday now , as the forums OCE don't work evening and weekends . Its not a 24 hour support forum , its office working hours .

If you revisit your thread, you'll see that an OCE responded to your thread yesterday asking for you to fill in the standard 20 questions.

Thanks EM x it looks as though my profile has been adjusted to 9 it looks as if it wes done about ten hours ago,but it is still only 3089Kbps Down and 536Kbps Up. I have records back as far as Jan 2007 on this line that was pre LLU the best was 4226Kbps Down and 764Kbps up.On 9-5-10 it was 3805.70 Kbps Down 767.09 Kbps Up. so still a way to go.I still stand by [is faster in fact slower] Thanks For Your Help

The forum is not real time, the OCE's work on oldest thread first, if someone answers your post it puts the thread to the back of the queue, if it is answered regularly you could wait days before it is seen by the OCE's, my suggestion is add a new post to the thread saying something like "i am closing this so it will not get bumped" then use "topic tools" (top right of screen) to close the topic, the OCE's can still answer it but the members cannot therefore it will not get bumped again and should be picked up on Monday when the OCE's are back in the office.
