TalkTalk getting their Comeuppance

[link to this post]

Anybody noticed this, a potential £139M fine for TalkTalk from Ofcom due to billing issues. Full story here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/medi...

TalkTalk have 30 days to fix things or they'll be fined.

ex-pipex (2yrs), ex-plusnet (3yrs), now TalkTalk.

Nothing would surprise me - they didn't even bother replying to OTELO in my case - so OTELO made the award .

Will the cheque arrive at the end of November ??

TalkTalk said the most of the problems related to a "legacy billing" error at Tiscali, the broadband provider it bought for £236m last year.

the billing for cancelled services is scandalous and needs to be sorted out.
They appear to have failed badly in respect to some (former) Tiscali customers.

i suspect that a remote possibility of a hundred mill fine may spur things along a bit more quickly smile

This billing fiasco is getting beyond a joke and IMHO TalkTalk deserve to be fined and i do feel its the only way of getting this massive unmovable object to move .

Seriously thou , Ofcom actually finning TalkTalk , very doubt full as Ofcom have repeat ably shown in the past to have no teeth and a whimper of a bark .

I doubt very much whether a leopard can change its spots. How can TT change 5 years of failure in customer service in just one month? The whole system is ingrained in company management culture caused by the mentalities of former mobile phone salesmen who are its directors. TT will undoubtedly get fined something, which serves them right for not investing in customer service. If they are saying that is just legacy Tiscali problems, then they are deluded. There is a faint hope they actually learn something from this like they did with unsolicited silent calls which also got them fined.

I watched the report on bbc watchdog, all i heard was lies, they IMHO they should not be given another day never mind another 30 days, they knew full well what they have been doing was wrong ,and have no valid excuse for it,caught red handed time to pay up,or the receivers will be giving them a visit, but we can all dream

I cant agree with TalkTalk going into receivership as a dream for the majority of its 4 million customers .

There is another reason for it being your dream , as it would not effect you .

Thanks Bill I dont have Signatures visible. wink

I have often wondered why some people (and we have seen a few here) visit forums of other ISP's to moan about the lack of service they provide, I dont visit other ISP's forums unless I am thinking of leaving my current supplier and then it is only to ask customers questions not to moan about the service they supply. confused
