Question about Talktalk

[link to this post]

hi there, I did a search and couldn't figure it out myself, but could anyone tell me if I'd be required to transfer my phone line to talktalk? As I just want the broadband.

cheers!

Yes, if TT are LLU'd at your exchange.

TT only supplies Full LLU (or non-LLU IPStream in the exchanges they don't have presence).

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU BB => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU BB

oh right. I'm not terribly knowledgeable on all this LLU stuff, but this is my exchange here:

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/EACOS

So I guess that means I can't keep my phone line if sign up with talktalk. Ah well cheers for the info!

Why do you want to move to TT BB but not have the phone package ?

Yes, that's just one of the big downsides of TT BB.

Because it's such a pain getting your line back to BT when you want to migrate away.

You can use Sky you know, you don't have to have Sky TV or Sky Talk, I think without Sky Talk and Sky T.v it is about £15 a month, pretty good to be honest, I f I was not on the network I am on now, I would go for Sky.

As far as I am aware, there is no TT BB package that comes without TT taking over your phone as well.
