Hi all, been connected since 6 Jun 11 and wondering if I am getting the max speed for my connection
Stats:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8151 kbps 1019 kbps
Line Attenuation 41.5 db 21.3 db
Noise Margin 6.4 db 10.0 db
ADSL2+ Fast Path

On a very good day, my ADSL2+ line can just manage 8100Kbps sync at 45dB sync, usually 7200Kbps. So you are doing ok.

Yeah, I think I was hitting 9100kbps on my Orange LLU line, but I adjusted my own SNR, to probably about 3db. But I'm happy at 8100kbps if it's stable.

You should be able to get around the same rate with TalkTalk really if you can adjust the SNR like you did with Orange. Of course, these are just sync/connection speeds, and you may well be getting more throughput on TalkTalk compared to Orange even with a slightly slower sync speed - I guess probably one reason why you left Orange was because speedtests were nowhere near 9Mbps, which is maybe an understatement .

Actually, I was getting good speed with Orange LLU, however, since BT is controlling the Network, and since BT haven't upgraded my Exchange to 21CN, I was put back on the rubbish over congested IPStream Service, luckily my 18 month contract is now up, so that's why I decided to move to TalkTalk.

Update:
I adjusted my SNR by 50%. So I'm on a 3db Fast Path Profile.
Very stable, no drop outs and its been about 3 days.
DownStream Connection Speed 9607 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 1019 kbps
SNR currently at 0.8 .

only issue running so low would be loss of throughput. Try a speedtest when your snrm is at 0.8DB and see how slow the speed is.

SNR at 0.4. Speed throughput hasn't slowed down. Still full speed.

Yeah i noticed that even when i was with talktalk at 0.6db no throughput issues at all
what kind of router are you using?
i'm using the DG384GT

I'm using the DGN2000 with the 023o 1018 DGTeam Firmware, works great. No throughtput issues or drop outs.
The Error Second Count is high but its not affecting the internet anyway. Currently stand at 24k after 24 hours .
