Has my exchange been LLU'd?

[link to this post]

According to samknows my RFS date is today! But I have no idea if it's actually gone through...

I've asked a few resellers but nothing yet, Im hoping its not been delayed. Can anyone from talktalk confirm if the Aberystwyth (WNAE) exchange has been done?

Thanks

What product and pricing does the TalkTalk checker offer?

SamKnows sometimes works off older data, i.e. it is not linked into some superdatabase that updates every day, it is very reliant on periodic updates from providers, and them rolling it into the system.

Hi Huw,

Its a RFS date these can slide. You could always check with reseller, such as vivaciti, titan, I only mention these as they sell tt product as others don't for me and i'm not to far away from you in Newtown. You could phone TT direct they might/or not know, depending on who you get.

You could check on the TT until recently however when i last checked TT had removed this for non customers.

My exchange (Hoghton) was supposed to be TT LLUed on the 30th October and it hasnt been done to date. There is no other LLU on the exchange.
I asked one of the resellers and they found out its now scheduled for Q1 2012.

There seems to be a few that still have the RFS date on there even though its past, even going back as far as September.

Two of the resellers now say my exchange isn't even planned! Somewhat annoying that talktalk have made their exchange list private.

Well it has a date of today, you could try our check and see if it gives you the option (last one, LLU ADSL2+ 100GB) or maybe try it again on Monday, or if you send me a PM with your number I can check it for you.

I have already contacted your sales department and they say talktalk have no plans to unbundle the exchange.

I don't know what's going in - there are a few exchanges near me that also have dates on samknows that have been missed. These dates were only added in the last two months! How could they have decided to unbundle and then abandon the idea so quickly?

Your exchange isnt now showing any LLU RFS dates but 21CN WBC is the end of March 2012.

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/WNAE

My exchange had TT LLU RFS of 30/10/11 but it only went live 15/12/11 according to Samknows, i signed up around then and i'm now on TT LLU from XILO.

Interestingly - ALL of the TalkTalk dates have disappeared off of the Pembrokeshire Exchange details on samknows.com

Recently I posted RFS dates that had been published on that site for every exchange in this county except mine (the largest) and a few smaller exchanges)

Checking back after reading your post I discovered that they have all disappeared, including Johnston Tenby Saundersfoot and Haverfordwest all of which are past thier RFS dates, with another 4 due in February.

Assuming talkTalk haven't got lost on their way here we could soon be in the ludcrous situation of the Milford and Neyland areas on the 01646 code having ADSL2/2+ while the rest on Pembroke are still stuck in the slow lane - and paying a premium for it.

Warweezil

I know TalkTalk have done the Tenby exchage as a friend of mine is with them. Tenby's exchange has also gone live with ADSL2+ as of Monday this week. I've now got 14meg where I live.

Good news for the Dock exchage is that a BT Openreach engineer told me (off the record) that it should be done later this year.

If you look at this page, you'll see that several Pembrokeshire exchanges have been LLU'd by TT but the status hasn't been updated.

TalkTalk have removed all of their West Wales RFS dates which is annoying!

If you look at this page the Tenby exchange (mine) and possibly the Aberystwyth ones are showing as yellow - which means they're been upgraded but are awaiting Activation.

I just got ADSL2+ in Tenby yesterday and it's much better than I thought. If you don't get LLU, it's worth waiting for if your ADSL2+ date is end of April.

Don't blame ya at all mate. I knw it's really frustrating and I didn't believe it myself when I found out we were gettng ADSL2+.

Just noticed that the TalkTalk LLU map i link to above now says there aren't any Activations pending! Perhaps they're going bust!!

Dates have definitely been pulled from Samknows. I will be calling a couple of friends later to let them know that the February RFS date on both their (adjoining) exchanges have been pulled from the list, so they may as well stop looking at options (including resellers I have pointed them towards).

Its getting frustrating being "teased" like this, First it was BT with disappearing RFS dates that vanished just about the time that the FTTx roll out started (conspiracy theory anyone?) Then we had Sky flagging exchanges in this area as "about to be upgraded" - it was only when we looked into it we discovered that this included even a 40 residential line exchange near here that we smelled a rat, and now once again we have disappearing RFS dates this time from TalkTalk which is a complete - I cant use my usual expression to describe it - and again I'm sure no one will have the basic courtesy to tell us what is going on.

This industry really does treat its customers (and would be customers) with something like contempt.

As for BT - I expect they may get round to us after they bring forward the fabled 80 meg Fibre upgrade... or maybe it will be the step after that before they finally get us off of 8Mbps.... but I wont hold my breath

Talking to Openreach Engineers again just now and they know nothing about the Fibre Link you speak of. Also they did say again that Pembroke Dock Exchange WILL get ADSL2+ later in the year (all off the record of course wink )

The reference to fibre upgrade was an item I saw somewhere about BT trialling 80 megs in some infinity areas later this year - the inference being that on sub 8 megs - we will be EVEN FURTHER behind later this year if that comes to fruition.

I often wonder if companies like TT and C&W (who also posted then removed an LLU date for my exchange) stick these RFS dates up then actually look at the logistics of the individual locations and realise that there isn't enough back haul capacity to make it work.

BT are supposed to be installing ADSL2+ by the end of march - but I've been here before with BT in 2010. You would thing they would be installing spare back haul capacity that could then be rented by the likes of TT to use.

Same here in tenby but as per my sig at the bottom, you can see it's actually happened this time so there's no reason not to believe it'll happen for you in March Huw and you Warweezil later in the year as I told you I've been told by Openreach.

Ours was actually finished 2 weeks early aswell so you may get it even sooner wink

Well I'm still not optimistic. the only RFS dates I can find for WBC are for Haverfordwest (31/03), Milford Haven 31/08 and of course Saundersfoot 31/05, so it looks like they have mapped out the upgrades as far as the end of summer.

Maybe you can see why I am not optimistic. All the smaller exchanges, and of course one that already has LLU have dates.
