Sync Rate has gone up

I'm with Talk Talk Business (formerly Freedom2Surf), and my exchange is only enabled for BT Max up to 8meg

My sync with the exchange has gone up to 8191kbps downstream and 1019kbps upstream

I thought the maximum ADSL Max would sync at is 8128kbps

I'm not complaining as I can now download and upload at higher speeds, just puzzled as to why everything has gone up

The connection is rock solid with no drops in connection

Below are my router stats for my line

Downstream
Connection Speed - 8191kbps
Line Attenuation - 16.0db
Noise Margin - 26.3db

Upstream
Connection Speed - 1019kbps
Line Attenuation - 4.9db
Noise Margin - 13.3db

What exchange?

Looks like it's gone 21CN WBC.

and capped if the line attenuation is only 16db

My exchange has no chance of 21CN for many years, as it is very rural

What do you mean 'capped'

So, tell us the exchange? No way you are still on ADSL Max so there must be some explanation.

TT has LLU'ed that exchange (even tho' SamKnows doesn't know). I put Exchange's postcode in TT s Checker and was given: "Your estimated speed 17.2 Meg".

So you must have been moved to TT LLU but capped at 8 Meg, probably cuz that's your contract.

Since my last post, I have spoken to Talk Talk Business and they have confirmed that the Neyland exchange has been unbundled, so I have signed up for the up to 24meg package

It also is cheaper than my current Max package

how big is your exchange ? i have ( been wishful thinking ) TalkTalk are doing a domination tour and the village i have moved to, may get LLUed but im not that hopeful .

Really could do with saving the money as im already chapter and verse on how to deal with Talktalk , just not got the choice on this exchange .

Samknows is very inaccurate , that's why i asked how big your exchange is .

edit: those 24 month contracts frighten away many , to include my self . It is said business customer get prioritization traffic over normal customers , over talktalk network . which could definitely be worth having .

My exchange has 2574 residential and 115 non residential properties according to Samknows, which is about right

The prioritised traffic with TT Business, means that your broadband takes priority over residential broadband, so hopefully no slow downs in the evening

If this works as they say it should, things like iPlayer should work perfectly
