TT half price offer...on 12 or 18 month contract?

Thinking of renewing my TT Plus contract (best ISP i have ever used for speeds & reliability) so called them and their customer support said the best deal they could offer me was £7.25 (ie half price) + line rental for 6 months on a 12 month contract. Said i would think about it and hung up. So went to 'my account' online and the same offer is available but on a 18 month contract!!! Called TT again but this time they said the offer is on a 18 month contract I thought TT had got rid of 18 month contracts and everything was on 12 months now? For new customers their website states the essentials half price offer is for 12 months and i can't find 18 months mentioned anywhere. Can someone clarify?

I am not with TT so I cannot clarify their offers to existing customers,

but the site clearly states 12 Months

Offers for existing customers vary depending on a number of factors. If you dont wish to accept an offer you ahve no obligation to do so, you may also be able to negotiate for a better deal as is evident by a number of custoemrs on the TalkTalk Members Forum
