do talktalk have some kind of DLM on LLU ?

Hi there

for a long time my friends router has synced at just over 3300kbps and would get speeds of about 3000 to 3200kbps.

he changed his router today , to a netgear dg834g v4 and synced at just over 5500kbps , but running speed tests is still getting the same as when he was synced at 3300kbps.

do talktalk have some kind of DLM (on their LLU network) like bt wholesale? if so will it be a case of waiting as few days for the speed to rise ?

DLM normally refers to sync speeds on LLU, and TalkTalk do run a system to set stable or faster profiles, but there is no IP Profile system like on BT Wholesale which is what you seem to be suggesting.

If the 3200 sync was a sensible sync for the attenuation it is possible the extra speed of the Netgear router is being lost in handling lots of errors. Comparing the full stats from both routers can help gain some insight in this area
